Impacted Wisdom Teeth

What is an impacted tooth?

Although most people develop and grow 32 permanent adult teeth, many times their jaws are too small to accommodate the four wisdom teeth. When inadequate space prevents the teeth from erupting they are called impacted teeth. This indicates their inability to erupt into the proper position for chewing and cleaning.

Types Of Impactions

We will need to see you for a consultation to determine if you will benefit from wisdom tooth removal. A special x-ray of your mouth and jaws (panorex) will be taken to determine if your wisdom teeth are impacted, if there is room for them to erupt, and how difficult it will be to have them removed.

Wow! Our whole family was so impressed with the care we received from the entire team at Cypress Bend OMS for my son's wisdom teeth extraction. First of all, the facility is beautiful, but more importantly, the staff is one of the friendliest teams that we have encountered in a medical facility in a very long time. Dr. Stanford was so kind and patient during our consult. Every question was answered, and every one of our concerns was addressed. Even after the procedure, Dr. Stanford was available to answer our questions. Cypress Bend OMS provides a human touch to medicine that is so often lacking in modern medical offices. I can't recommend this team enough.
