Meet Oral Surgeon Dr. Stanford

Justin B. Stanford, D.D.S., M.D. is the proud owner of Cypress Bend Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. Justin was born and raised in Bossier City, Louisiana.  After completing a Bachelor of Science degree from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, he continued his education at LSU School of Dentistry in New Orleans where his love of dentistry truly began. After graduation, Justin participated in a one-year internship in the LSU Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Program in Baton Rouge, LA. The internship kickstarted his oral surgery career and allowed him to obtain experience in facial trauma and reconstruction.

Although he’ll forever be an LSU Tiger, Justin and his wife Molly made the big move to Gator Country in Gainesville, Florida for a six-year oral surgery residency at The University of Florida. Dr. Stanford received extensive training in orthognathic (jaw) surgery, TMJ, anesthesia, pediatric care, implantology, oral pathology, facial trauma, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting, and advanced dentoalveolar procedures. During this time, Justin also earned his medical degree from the University of Florida and received advanced training in adult and pediatric anesthesia.

A few of Justin’s proudest moments at UF include being surgically trained and mentored by Dr. M. Frank Dolwick, Dr. Will Martin, and Dr. Luis Gonzaga. He also feels privileged to have graduated from a nationally ranked medical school. His experience in the Center for Implant Dentistry, with state-of-the-art technology and superior mentorship, has set a precedent for future patient care. Being an oral surgeon has been a goal of Justin’s since his college years. He believes that oral and maxillofacial surgeons are able to bridge the gap between dentistry and medicine and are constantly problem solving to treat complex cases appropriately.

Justin is married to Dr. Molly Bordelon Stanford who grew up in Lafayette. Justin and Molly are the proud parents of their adorable sons Camden and Connor and a miniature dachshund named Cooper. They’ve always loved football season, Mardi Gras, and cheering on the local teams! In their free time, they like cooking and being with friends and family, especially on the water at False River. They also enjoy traveling, kayaking, hiking, and being outdoors.

It means the world to Justin and his family to return to their Louisiana roots and practice in Lafayette, LA. There’s no other state quite like Louisiana with its culture, traditions, and delicious Cajun food. Justin is proud to call Lafayette home and to have the opportunity to serve the community and work alongside colleagues and friends.
